Bescherming? – Bescherming This is the title of the fourth joint exhibition by Ans Joosten and Gereon Riedel. Bescherming is the Dutch word for protection. The two artists from the twin towns of Peel en Maas and Grevenbroich have been dealing with the questions for some time: Is that protection? Isn’t that protection? What is protection? what protects me These can be people or things, religions or states. But everything is questioned and scrutinized, and in the end, everyone decides for themselves. As in every exhibition of the two, the “soft” forms of stone sculptures by Ans Joosten are juxtaposed with the “rough” portraits and sculptures by Gereon Riedel. The very contrasting works are in great contrast to each other and yet complement each other. An exciting exhibition will be on display.
